Gertrude Bolton, 102, of Glenwood died July 11 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Corder, Mo., she retired as a Lutheran elementary school teacher in Long Beach, Calif., was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hilo, Volcano Senior Center and tutor with Laubach Literacy Council in East Hawaii. Celebration of life 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, at Christ Lutheran Church, 595 Kapiolani St. Aloha attire; no flowers. Survived by daughters, Louise (John) Robertson of Glenwood and Janet Winkler of Texas; five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
